Response To Rick's Query

At last Sunday's meeting Rick asked the group to write to him about our thoughts regarding the drum ensemble. I now have the opportunity to do so.

I love being a part of this ensemble and I support Rick's vision. He touched on just a few of his ideas for performances, incorporating various styles of drumming from different cultures. I think they are wonderful. I can sense that I am a part of a creation that is on the cutting edge and I can feel the energy and excitement that surrounds it when Rick speaks of his vision for this ensemble. I want to learn more and grow as a drummer. I have discovered that I have a talent which feels so natural to me that I want to explore it fully. I am drawn to the creative expression of drumming and have a desire to continue under Rick's tutelage. I would love for this group to be in existence for the long haul.

Thank you, Rick, for the time and effort you put into this ensemble and for your contagious exuberance!

Diane :)

P.S. I am thrilled with my new drum. It's a perfect fit! Also, thank you, Rick, for the compliment you gave me today. It is truly my pleasure to be of assistance to you and to Laural. :)

Drum Ensemble Schedule

I don't have the ensemble schedule on me now, but it would be great to see that on a regular basis. If someone has that handy, could you post it?

Thanks,
Steve

Great gathering yesterday!!

Hello all:

Yesterday's gathering was fantastic and I am still really excited about the possibilities and potentialities we have before us...music, rhythm, universality--what could be better! The ensemble will meet both March 9th and March 16th in the community room at Unity about 12:15 or so. We will have to take a 2 week break as March 23rd is Easter Sunday and March 30th is the last day our beloved Raymond Shea will speak as the Senior Minister at Unity before he retires. After the service there will be a luncheon so meeting won't be an option. I will be working on the April and May schedules soon and I would love to hear your thoughts as to continuing to meet weekly or if we should move to every other week. Thanks to you all!

March 9th Rehearsal in Unity Community Room at 12:15pm

Laural mentioned to me recently that we will be able to meet on March 9th in the community room. She will be unavailable that day, but we can meet without her. Susan Shea approved of the location, since Sheri Shea will be using the sanctuary.
At this time I am unaware of any arrangements for April 6th.
